I used to hold her poised
as a tadpole
edge of the porcelain
holding bottom suspended
holding (fingers tracing rib spaces)
Tiny cold splash
and she touches toes
for the safe necessity of doctors and mothers
Squeaky vanilla peach &
bouncing blond curls.
