Ekphrastic Journaling: the Writer's Notebook
Join us for a four week program on Zoom on the ekphrastic writer's notebook.
Discover how journaling about art can fuel your ekphrastic practice.
Journaling notes and impressions on artists and their work, answering questions about their style, intentions, influences, and ideas, and writing down your responses to their works is an amazing way to deepen your relationship with and knowledge of art and art history.
The ekphrastic journal is also a place to start poems or stories, create outlines, title ideas, and jot down ideas as they come to you.
We will look at different kinds of journaling practices. We will write in our journals in response to visual artworks. We'll do a variety of creative writing exercises, brainstorming exercises, and more. An ekphrastic journaling practice can expand your imagination and guide your journey of discovery. It can provide a safe space to explore your questions and emotions.
Join us and start your journal to enrich your writing and understanding of art.
