Join us for a zoom session on Tina Modotti, the Italian-American actress, model, photographer, and revolutionary in Mexico City.
We will look at Tina's incredible life story and an equally amazing body of work. As an actress and model, she was a great beauty who became interested in photography through her romantic relationship with the legendary photographer Edward Weston.
Scandal and loss followed her from Italy to California to Mexico. A friend of bohemian and communist circles, surrounded by artists like Frida and Diego, her own work was a revelation.
We will use some of Tina's photographs in writing exercises to inspire our own poems or stories.
