​Icelandic Reflections
 
A house on the shore:
people inside cannot see
their own reflections,
 
cannot see the aurora
spread in the sky behind them,
 
cannot see all that
green, bouncing off the water,
angling out of sight.
 
Bright windows, blind to the night,
hide the chance to wonder at
 
colours in the sky--
or have auroras become
too common a sight,
 
something you check as you pass,
but do not stop, unless night
 
dazzles with dancing colours?

Gary S.
