Life is But a Dream

Join Meg and Lorette for a surreal and fantastical ekphrastic microfiction workshop, crafting small stories from the liminal spaces of magic and mystery. We will take inspiration from surrealist and otherworldly paintings, crafting flash fictions with imagination, symbolism, and fantasy.

This asynchronous workshop will take place in a private Facebook group. Writers will work at their own pace and schedule to create a micro each day, choosing from a wide variety of prompts, including questions, ideas, surrealist artworks, and magic word lists. Follow your dreams and nightmares, tap into archetypes,  the unconscious, amulets, fairy tales and more to create stories that surprise and transport. You will receive feedback from Meg and Lorette on each 400 word microfiction story, as well as peer responses and discussion.
