Pollock in the Hamptons The handcuffs are unlocked "Now" is extending, expanding I see Jackson spinning out nebulae mists Salmon washes suspended Gravity upended and I see His wife Lee as she smokes and watches, Watches him, he feels her watching him He feels the wind through the shed Blue breath of East Hampton How it feels-- Deep sighing coastal stars How it feels-- Arcs of lavender tumbling Layers of the onion. Green girders. Splintering into magenta, mauve Jackson is on fire, a meteor Burning through I envy his beautiful chaos But not the time after, when beauty Stopped and chaos Stared him down Burnt out.
