Writers who enjoy using visual art for inspiration either love working from abstract art, or aren't sure how to approach it at all. Those who love it say they enjoy the challenge of starting without a narrative. Those who don't feel it is worse than the blank page. In this workshop, our focus will be on finding a way into ekphrasis through play. We will look at different ways abstract paintings can inspire our words. Be open to playful experimentation and exploration in your poetry or stories. This workshop is a playground and our focus will be on having fun!
