Join us for an ekphrastic breakfast on Zoom. Bring coffee, tea, and breakfast if you wish, for a deep dive into the idea of the brain as a world. We will look at some interesting depictions of the brain and the world in art history with Lorette. Ekphrastic editor and linguist Kate Copeland will take us on a linguistic fun-fact tour of brain lateralization and hemisphere cooperation, while we travel the earth and look at maps!
Through art and -visual- poetry you will be prompted into freewrites, and there will be time to discuss and share. Artists and authors included are Joseph Cornell, Camila Lamarca, Jolanda Moolenaar, Alejandra Pizarnik and more.
