Woman Writing, by Johanne Mathilde Dietrichson (Norway) by 1921
Let's gather monthly and spend Sunday writing poetry and flash fiction with creative, inspiring, and fun ekphrastic exercises.

Lorette will host this workshop series from 2 to 4 pm EST. She will discuss several paintings or other works of visual art in each session, from a wide range of artists and cultures. In addition to discovering more about art history and deepening your relationship with visual art, there will be a variety of writing exercises and approaches each session.

This will be a great opportunity for the ekphrastic community to meet and mingle and work together. Join us!

Zoom link will be emailed a few days prior to the event. No refunds for cancelled attendance. Thank you for supporting The Ekphrastic Review.

Lorette C. Luzajic will be conducting the workshops. Lorette founded The Ekphrastic Review in 2015 and has been the editor ever since. The journal is a rare publication devoted entirely to writing inspired by art. Lorette's flash fiction and poetry has been widely published in hundreds of literary journals in print and online, including Cleaver Magazine, Ghost Parachute, JMWW, Cabinet of Heed, Unbroken, New Flash Fiction, Rattle, Indelible, and more. Her flash won first place in a contest at MacQueen's Quinterly. She has been nominated several times each for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize. Some of her work has been translated into Urdu. Lorette has a dusty degree in journalism, but went on to pursue creative writing as well as visual art. Her mixed media collage paintings are internationally collected, in over 25 countries so far. She is passionate about art history: the stories of triumph and tribulation recorded in paint have changed the world, and they change our writing, too.
