Rumblings of the Earth
 
We survive
in the belly of the earth
we thrive
like Pleistocenic bats
suspended from the roofs
of unlit caves               
we are alive
with just the sound
of wings and walls
to guide our flight
we fly
without the light of stars
to tell us who
or what we are
and will become.
