Songs To C. - as we live ... Something about birdsong, a Spring morning, the total freedom at daybreak, and, when you elude last night's thoughts, the evening wine, then, tear the windows open, invite the blackbirds in - Something about blue tunes, the Summer set a total dreamdom on days two-faced, and, when you read the words you saved, the songs he sang, then, feel the vastness afresh, invite the promises in - Something about last flowers, in lasting fields, the dogs out at light hours, and, when, safe grounds seemed tried, clogged by angry clouds, by heaven's songbook, when the heavenly mind might shroud - Then, something about firm lines, in lasting skies will make you not fall of the earth, not set sail for temporary truce, so, when you play snowy weather, you have the towers fuel your terms, then, you will learn, the space between songs. Such a beautiful, evocative response to this painting. And yet, it stands firmly on its own!
