The Fantastic Ekphrastic Awards 2020 recognizing originality, excellence, and contributions to ekphrastic literature The Ekphrastic Review is pleased to announce the birth of our annual Fantastic Ekphrastic Awards, honouring ten names for their contribution to ekphrastic literature. With many thanks to the tireless team on our prize committee for reading and nominating writers- it is an incredibly important contribution to other writers, to literature, and to our journal. Thank you Laura Cherry, Kari Ann Ebert, Carole Mertz, Alarie Tennille, and Jordan Trethewey. Readers will notice that one winner is a prize committee team member. Please note, when selecting nominees and awardees, if a committee member is nominated, she or he bows out of the rest of the process. Committee members cannot vote for themselves. The editor of The Ekphrastic Review has the final say on all nominations and winners in our house awards and our submissions to other literary prizes. Without further adieu, we congratulate these ten writers for their outstanding work in the ekphrastic genre.
