The Ekphrastic Review is completely opposed to charging fees to read the writing or to submit it. Many journals are choosing to charge submission fees to writers in order to cut down on the number of submissions and the time it takes to go through them, and to help fund the time it takes. We don't care for this approach because writers are already underpaid, and what they aren't paid for should be freely shared so that a wide audience can read them.
This journal has become the world's premier resource for ekphrastic writing, featuring the best poets writing today as well as many new writers. The editor volunteers approximately sixty hours a month- about two hours every single day. We have had several guest editors, have two volunteers for social media, and are assembling a prize nomination committee right now. Thank you to these generous contributors, and to all the writers and artists and readers who make this amazing journey possible. If you would like to support The Ekphrastic Review, here's how. 1.
